Fig Newton's Pug Portrait

I painted her for my art show at Pride and Pedigree, which has now ended. The gallery owner said that this portrait was her favorite of the series. Here's her finished portrait:


Next, I used black paint on a fairly large brush to map out the general details of her face:

Finally, I used a smaller brush to define her nose, mouth and eyes, as well as the wonderful wrinkles in her face. I decided to change the color of her collar to purple and paint her against a pink background, since she is a very "girly" Pug.
